No bump or bruise was too large, no muscle or back was too sore and no pain was too great from the opening weekend of competitions for the student-athletes of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School to join the Felician Sisters for Mass on Sunday, August 25. The student-athlete Mass and blessings each season is an OLSH tradition in its third year. Student-athletes and their families come to Mass at the OLSH Chapel. Fr. Sam Esposito gave a special blessing to the players and coaches from boys and girls soccer, boys and girls cross country, girls volleyball, golf, cheerleaders and football. The teams and their families filled the chapel to capacity. Mission leader Jeff Hulbert remarked, "It was great to see all the purple and gold uniforms praying together." Similar services will be held for the winter and spring athletic seasons later this year.
