The Giving Tree has been a long-standing Advent tradition at OLSH, but this year, students had an additional opportunity to give back. The OLSH Interact Club sponsored a collection of items for victims of the tornadoes in Kentucky. The group partnered with the Crescent Township Volunteer Fire Department who had plans to travel to Kentucky to provide support. As usual, the OLSH community responded with great generosity giving $2,120 in gift cards for Kingstree (a Felician ministry in South Carolina), Mooncrest (a Felician sponsored ministry in Moon Township), and Our Lady's Pantry (the emergency food pantry at OLSH) and over 2,000 items for Kentucky, including toys, personal care items, clothing, socks, cleaning supplies, toiletries, and canned goods. The Felician Core Values of Compassion, Respect for Human Dignity, Solidarity with the Poor, Justice & Peace, and Transformation were put into action this Advent, as students and families helped those in need.
