OLSH students recognized for success on AP exams

Forty-two OLSH students were recognized by the College Board for their outstanding performance on Advanced Placement (AP) exams taken throughout their high school career. The number of OLSH students recognized with this honor doubled from last year, demonstrating the academic talent and hard work of the students and their teachers. We are proud to share the names of the students who earned this recognition and congratulate the students and their parents for their achievement!

AP Scholar with Distinction is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. The following OLSH students are AP Scholars with Distinction: Katelyn Hoff ’22, Grace Lucci ’22, Evelyn Minzer ’23, Lorin Planinsic ’23, Richard Ruckert ’22, Clayton Saftner ’23, Michael Urban ’22, and Abby Wertz ’23.

AP Scholar with Honor is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. The following OLSH students are AP Scholars with Honor: Malley Aiello ’22, Grace Avery ’22, Giavanna Booz ’23, Elleson Burke ’22, Lindsey Faulkner ’22, Nathanial Hale ’23, Ryan Kiefer ’22, Bernard Komoroski ’22, Katarina Komoroski ’23, Ryan Kozy ’22, Emma McGrath ’22, Clare Mulvay ’23, Elsa Schneider ’23, and Paul Wolf ’22.

AP Scholar is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. The following OLSH students are AP Scholars: Zoe Blankenship ’22, Collin Cimino ’23, Kaleigh Costantino ’22, Joseph Daeschner ’23, Lukas Daeschner ’22, Leah Duncan ’22, Gabrielle Evans ’23, Melanie George ’23, Andrew Griesacker ’22, Karolina Lucas ’23, Meghan McCoy ’22, Alyssa Minton ’23, Olivia Mulvay ’23, Noah Oros ’22, Kirstin Pantaleo ’22, Frank Smigiel ’22, Victoria Smigiel ’23, Chloe Walz ’22, Luke Waszyn ’23, and Olivia Wegrzynowicz ’23.

203 AP exams were taken by OLSH students last spring. 100% of OLSH students in the following courses earned a qualifying, or passing, score of 3, 4, or 5 on their AP exam: AP 2D Art & Design, AP Calculus BC, AP Computer Science A, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Drawing, AP English Literature & Composition, and AP World History: Modern earned a qualifying score of 3, 4, or 5.

AP exams are scored on scale of 1-5. Scores of 3, 4, or 5 are considered “qualifying scores” as many colleges and universities grant credit and/or advanced placement for scores of 3 and above.
