The OLSH Student Lunch Fund was set up in an effort to alleviate the burden of food insecurity for OLSH families and to ensure that every student gets to enjoy a meal at lunchtime. To raise money for the fund, Student Government hosted a volleyball game between teachers and students. The evening featured a 50/50 and Nintendo Switch raffle and additional games between sets. Students participated in a half court hit-out, a lip sync battle against OLSH staff members, and “Chuck a Duck.”
The student team took the first set, but the teachers came back stronger and won the next two to take the match overall. Special thanks to everyone who attended the event or participated in some way! The event raised a total of $1,552 that will go directly toward support for student lunches.
