On Monday morning, the freshman class invited special members of their family to join us at OLSH for the annual ROOTS Reception. Students interviewed older relatives (in some cases, their oldest living relative) throughout this semester and wrote out the stories of their lives. When their relatives arrived at the reception, they were presented with the books that students had put together.
Guests were treated to performances by the cast of this year's Spring Musical, "Big Fish," in the auditorium. They also watched two special Senior Seminar presentations before heading back into the cafeteria for refreshments. To cap off the morning, our special guests enjoyed Mass in the OLSH chapel, celebrated by Fr. Bill Dorner.
This was the highest-attended ROOTS reception since its inception, with nearly 250 people present. Some parents and other family members attended the reception, and one family even had 4 generations in attendance! It was a lovely morning for all.
