OLSH launched its new Speaker Series on Monday, October 9th with a talk about Servant Leadership led by Dustin Dale. Dale, a former corporate senior executive, redefined his life mission in November of 2021, after he was diagnosed with an incurable autoimmune disease. Throughout his treatment sessions, he wrote his first best-selling book, "Learn to Lead by Serving,” in which he shares his knowledge and experience of 10 years leading over 1,000 teams and more than 3,500 individuals in his work for major corporations. He extracted some of the principles shared in his book and shared them with his Monday evening audience.
Dale’s one-hour talk applied to all walks of life, as he focused on personal and professional development. His powerful testimonial featured stories about his health battles, the struggles of coming from a single-parent home, dealing with death as a child, and his personal faith journey. He defined what a leader at any level is, and taught how a true servant leader thinks, acts, speaks, and encourages those around them, all while keeping Christ at the center.
Attendees were inspired to take a closer look at their lives, as they were reminded that God is working through them behind the scenes, and blessing them with the confidence to go forth and be a leader to others.
This free, grant-funded event was attended by Moon Rotary members, Chamber of Commerce members, OLSH parents and grandparents, faculty and staff, and other community members who were eager to learn how to make themselves better by making those around them better.
The second installment of the OLSH Speaker Series will be held in the Spring of 2024. Stay tuned for more information!
