The OLSH theatre department worked tirelessly to put together its Fall Theatre Festival over Halloween weekend. The student production team demonstrated exceptional creativity and dedication throughout the process. The evening’s entertainment featured ghost stories in the courtyard and social commons, and two one-act plays performed on the OLSH stage – 15 Reasons Not to Be in a Play and We are the Sea.
For the first time, OLSH participated in the prestigious Prime Stage High School Drama Awards, with the students’ entry of We Are The Sea. This awards program recognizes local area high school students and their accomplishments in creating their non-musical productions. All positions involved in the stage production – from backstage to onstage roles – are considered for awards. Our students look forward to representing OLSH at the award ceremony in January.
“The Fall Theatre Festival is a testament to the creativity, passion, and teamwork that make our OLSH theatre community special,” said director Dolores Manuel.
With the conclusion of the Theatre Festival Ms. Manuel’s students and production team are now looking forward to the Christmas Play (A Pirate Christmas - Dec. 8 & 9) and Spring Musical – which was announced on closing night of the festival. OLSH will perform Oklahoma! during the first two weekends in March. We look forward to another great production!
