At OLSH, we love celebrating students who go above and beyond, whether it’s in the classroom, on the field, or within the community. This September and October, a group of amazing students stood out for their hard work and dedication to everything OLSH stands for. Let’s give a big round of applause to our Students of the Month and get to know what makes them so special!
September
Senior: Libby Gallick
Libby is an outstanding student and leader involved in Cross Country, Basketball, Track and Field, Student Government, Student Ambassadors, National Honor Society, Junior Achievement, Interact Club, and Europe Club. A St. James graduate, Libby loves the friendly faces she interacts with every day and the close-knit community where she feels she knows almost everyone.
Junior: John Cavicchia
John is an active member of the Interact Club and Stage Crew, always contributing his time and talents to the school community. A graduate of Archangel Gabriel School, John says his favorite part of OLSH is getting to go to school with his close friends.
Sophomore: Sanaa King
Sanaa is a talented athlete, excelling in Volleyball, Basketball, and Track. A graduate of Cornell Elementary, she loves making new friends, overcoming challenges, and simply having fun at OLSH.
Freshman: Molly Gauntner
Molly is a dedicated and enthusiastic student involved in Cross Country, Track and Field, Spring Musicals, Choir, and Altar Serving. A St. James graduate, Molly appreciates how kind and welcoming everyone has been since she arrived at OLSH and loves the wide range of activities available to explore her interests.
October
Senior: Meg Sweeney
Meg Sweeney is an exceptional student actively involved in athletics, including Cross Country, Track, Bowling, and Flag Football, as well as the arts through Theater, Stage Crew, Chapel Choir, and OLSH Ozone. She demonstrates her faith through Campus Ministry, Lectoring, ChiRho/MicRho, Youth Group, and Altar Serving, and contributes to her community as a Girl Scout and NHS member. A graduate of Assumption and Saint James, Meg loves how OLSH feels like a family and provides countless opportunities to deepen her faith.
Junior: Oliver Tomsic
Oliver is a well-rounded and accomplished student involved in Cross Country, Bowling, Track and Field, NHS, WCHR, Mock Trial, Campus Ministry, and Franciscan University Dual Enrollment. A graduate of St. Monica Catholic Academy, Oliver cherishes the incredible people he’s met along the way at OLSH.
Sophomore: Maribel Medwig
Maribel is a devoted athlete, playing for OLSH Girls Soccer and PFC 2008 Girls Soccer. A graduate of Eisenhower Elementary in Upper St. Clair, Maribel appreciates the supportive teachers and the welcoming environment at OLSH.
Freshman: Esther Frank
Esther is a talented and involved student, participating in Theater, Heartstrings, and FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). A graduate of Crafton Elementary in the Carlynton School District, Esther loves the open and loving environment at OLSH, where everyone’s unique awesomeness shines.
