OLSH Celebrates Mission & Heritage Week

As a ministry of the Felician Sisters, this week we celebrate Mission and Heritage Week.  It is time to reflect on the rich Felician-Franciscan tradition and spirituality which inspired the establishment of the many, diverse ministries of the Sisters.  This year’s theme is:  "Honoring Our Felician-Franciscan Tradition:  Speaking the Language of Peace.  As part of the many events planned for the week, OLSH students visited the Sisters’ Cemetery and recited a decade of the Rosary together, with each student standing behind a headstone in memory of those who have gone before us.  Today, Wednesday, October 4, the Feast of St. Francis, the school community will celebrate Mass together.  Additional activities this week include a food drive for Our Lady’s Pantry (the emergency food bank housed at OLSH), the annual Box Out event, where students sleep outside overnight in solidarity with the homeless, and a service trip to Jubilee Soup Kitchen.
