God is on the Move! OLSH Mission Trip

"God is on the Move!”, and so were members of the OLSH community in July.  10 students and 4 adults traveled to Frenchville, Pa and completed a week of service in the region.  Partnering with the ministry Young People Who Care, the OLSH group helped clean out barns and houses, poured concrete, repaired roofs, and forged relationships with the people of Frenchville. Though exhausted from the difficult work and long days, the group found time to build a closer relationship with God when they returned to Bethany Retreat Center from the worksite.  Evenings featured a series of group activities and prayer services that helped individuals to reflect on how God moves in their lives.  On the last day, participants listened to the words of Mother Teresa who encouraged others “to find their own Calcutta."  The group was instructed to go and continue to do God's work, and "find their own Frenchville". The students were reminded that there is poverty everywhere and encouraged to continue to be on the "move" with God.
