On Friday, August 17, the nine newest members of the OLSH faculty participated in an orientation session designed to welcome them to the OLSH community and prepare them for the start of the school year. Please join us in welcoming this talented group of individuals!
Mr. Eric Carothers joins the OLSH social studies department. A Pittsburgh native, he returns to the area after teaching in the south for the past several years. Eric also joins the OLSH coaching staff as the head boys soccer coach.
Mr. Chase Feher will teach Biology at OLSH this year. He completed his student-teaching at Franklin Regional High School and outside of teaching is very active in a variety of service activities when he isn’t in the classroom.
Mr. Kevin Joyce joins the OLSH social studies department. He recently served as a long-term substitute in the South Fayette School District where he taught honors and AP social studies courses.
Miss Alyson Nolte '09 is an OLSH alumna who will be teaching Spanish at OLSH this year. She recently returned to the Pittsburgh area after having spent the last year teaching Spanish in Australia.
Mr. Patrick O’Brien will teach several math courses at OLSH. He is a familiar face at the school, having previously served as a substitute teacher.
OLSH’s new school counselor is Mrs. Darcy Pihlblad. She comes to OLSH with experience as a school counselor for students at all grade levels, most recently working with middle school (grades 7-9) students in West Virginia.
Mr. Tyler Rodgers returns to OLSH to serve as the OWL Center Instructor and to teach some OLSH English courses. He previously taught at OLSH for several years and is looking forward to rejoining the school community.
Mrs. Emily Sgrignoli is OLSH’s new art teacher. She comes to OLSH after spending the last two years teaching AP Studio Art at Asia Pacific International School in Seoul, Korea.
Mrs. Caitlin (Neary) Snatchko ’10 returns to her alma mater to teach theology and serve as campus minister. She has been working as youth minister, catechist, and director of religious education at St. Bede Parish in Pittsburgh.
