This year four new faces have joined the OLSH faculty and staff. New teachers Julia Myron and Zach Korzi have joined the Theology and Math departments respectively. Matt Farago and Renee Price join the Advancement and Admissions teams. Welcome to OLSH!

OLSH’s annual Freshman Foundations Day was held on August 23 in advance of the start of school to introduce the newest class of students to the school and their classmates! The day culminated with Mass and a Matriculation Ceremony.

Congratulations to the fourth annual class of honorees (and the 7th annual Alumnus with Heart)! These outstanding graduates of OLSH are living out our mission in their personal and professional lives and we are so proud of them!

Over the course of the past two weeks, the OLSH community has come together in great ways to ensure a safe return to learning in the fall. Our faculty, staff, and students are incredibly grateful for the generosity that you have demonstrated.

OLSH was recently blessed by the generosity of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth who offered a large quantity of resources, including textbooks, furniture, tools, and supplies to the school.

OLSH is carefully planning for a variety of scenarios for the 2020-2021 academic year, and a committee of faculty, staff, and administrators are considering recommendations from the PA Department of Education, PA Department of Health, Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as we develop policies and guidelines related to this ongoing public health situation. Information will be communicated to parents and students via email, and updates will be posted on the COVID-19 Updates & Resources page.
The committee meets weekly and is planning for a variety of possibilities, including:

-All students returning to school full time for face-to-face instruction
-A hybrid schedule with a portion of the student body attending school 2-3 days per week, alternating with remote learning from home 2-3 days per week
-Online instruction in the event of a mandated school closure
-Options for families who have health concerns about a return to in-person instruction

At OLSH, we are ready and available to support our prospective incoming freshmen and transfer students in transition from various schools and communities. To help assist you in the process, we are waiving our admissions application fee for all applicants through Friday, June 12. This year, the annual Honors Convocation was split - one event for seniors, one for underclassmen. Underclassmen were recognized for academic performance in OLSH courses, as well as a few special awards and scholarships.
